The updated loudness-metering plugin adds single-instance stem views, timestamped notes, QC Report export and newly listed 9.1.6 surround support.

NUGEN Audio has launched VisLM 3, a new generation of its loudness-metering plugin. The central workflow change is multi-stem monitoring: NUGEN says users can view loudness readings, history traces and distributions for multiple stems within one plugin instance, potentially reducing the need to compare separate meter windows on complex mixes.

The company also says VisLM 3 adds timestamped notes through its Jotter technology, allowing comments and flags to be placed directly in the plugin at specific points in a programme. That could be useful during review, handoff and compliance-oriented workflows where engineers need to identify issues against a timeline.

NUGEN’s website lists QC Report export and 9.1.6 surround support among the new features. The company says the release expands immersive-audio support for changing production and delivery standards, though the supplied information does not specify the full set of immersive formats covered. VisLM 3 also has a redesigned interface with additional configuration options and streamlined navigation, according to the launch report.

ProSoundWeb reported that the launch arrived ahead of AES Nashville 2026. NUGEN positions VisLM 3 for broadcast, post-production, podcasting, music and immersive-audio work.
