Handheld ZaxNet controller provides remote transmitter control, timecode management and group operations without requiring an app or touchscreen.
Zaxcom has introduced ZRC, a dedicated handheld wireless remote controller for its Digital Recording Wireless ecosystem, providing direct control of ZaxNet compatible transmitters without requiring an app or touchscreen.
ZRC allows production sound users to organize and control transmitters individually or in groups, including frequency changes, input gain adjustments, transmitter power settings, recording transport, timecode management and encryption settings. The controller can also remotely format the internal memory cards of individual transmitters or entire groups.
The unit includes a physical keypad and graphic display, with adjustable brightness, text color and automatic dimming. ZRC can generate, read, jam and transmit SMPTE timecode, with a 3 pin LEMO connection providing timecode input and output.
ZRC communicates over ZaxNet’s 2.4 GHz network and can operate alongside existing ZaxNet control devices. Multiple ZRC units can also be used within the same system.
Power is provided by two AA batteries or external USB C. Zaxcom lists the controller at 240 grams and approximately 3.4 by 1.3 by 5.8 inches.
ZRC is shipping now with a retail price of $945.
