Apple Adds Drum Stem Splitting, AI Assistant and Sound Analysis to Logic Pro

November’s Apple Creator Studio update brings drum isolation and rebalancing from mixed audio, alongside a beta production assistant and an on-device sound-library Browser for Logic Pro.

Apple has announced a November Apple Creator Studio update that will expand Logic Pro with drum-capable stem separation, a beta intelligent assistant for Mac, and a redesigned Browser that analyzes and organizes added sounds. Apple says the update will be free for existing Creator Studio subscribers.

The most consequential production change is an expansion of Logic Pro’s Stem Splitter. Apple says the tool will be able to isolate, replace or rebalance drum parts in mixed audio without the original multitracks. That could create an additional route for remix preparation, corrective drum rebalancing and replacement work where session stems are unavailable, although Apple has not detailed separation quality, artifacts or source-material limits.

For Logic Pro for Mac, Apple is also introducing a beta intelligent assistant powered by Apple-built and third-party models. Apple says it can help users navigate production workflows, start a song, set up a vocal track from a prompt and refine an active project. Its practical reliability and detailed processing behavior have not yet been established.

The redesigned Mac Browser will centralize loops, instruments, effect patches and other sounds. Apple says its on-device Music Understanding analysis automatically classifies and tags added audio, allowing users to search a collection or drag in a loop to surface matching material. The feature could reduce manual organization and auditioning in larger sample libraries, subject to the accuracy of its analysis and matching.

Logic Pro for Mac and iPad will also receive Apple’s Liquid Glass interface treatment, while the update adds a Sergio George Producer Pack with piano sounds and Latin jazz and salsa loops. Apple specifically identifies the assistant and redesigned Browser as Mac features; its announcement does not establish whether every newly announced Logic Pro function will be available equally on iPad.
