Optimal Audio Launches Venue Wizard for Preliminary Commercial-Audio System Planning

The free web tool turns venue, zoning, playback and loudspeaker-placement inputs into an initial Optimal Audio product shortlist before distributor review and quotation.

Optimal Audio has launched Venue Wizard, a free online tool that gives venue owners and integrators an initial recommendation for a commercial sound system. The public tool is designed to frame early system planning around the venue and its operational needs rather than product model selection.

According to Optimal Audio, users answer questions about venue type, the number of audio areas or zones, intended playback and available loudspeaker locations. The company defines a zone as an area requiring its own volume control and audio source, and says the tool can account for ceiling, wall and outdoor loudspeaker positions. ProSoundWeb reported that the process comprises six questions, can return a recommendation in under five minutes and does not require registration.

Optimal Audio says Venue Wizard produces a tailored overview covering loudspeakers, amplification and control, with an explanation of the suggested products. Users can revise responses before receiving the overview, and the company provides a “not sure yet” option for applicable questions. ProSoundWeb also reported that users can set lowest cost or future expansion as a priority, while unresolved responses can be carried to a local distributor for discussion.

The output is not a final system design or price quotation. ProSoundWeb characterizes Venue Wizard as a starting point, and Optimal Audio says users can submit an overview to a distributor, which reviews and confirms the project details before providing a full quotation. The company says pricing depends on installation, quantities and the local distributor. While the Venue Wizard page describes its user inputs and product-output categories, it does not explain the recommendation algorithm, acoustic modelling, SPL targets, coverage calculations or product-quantity logic behind the shortlists.
