The update introduces coordinated settings across compatible receiver channels and a Preferred Access Point option for multi-AD610 ShowLink systems.

Shure has released Axient Digital version 1.6, according to ProSoundWeb, adding two functions aimed at complex wireless deployments: Channel Linking and Preferred Access Point. The update is available through Shure Update Utility, which Shure lists as supporting the Axient Digital Wireless System.

Channel Linking allows compatible channels across AD4Q, AD4D, ADX5D and ANX4 units operating in Axient Digital mode to be grouped, ProSoundWeb reports. Secondary channels in a group inherit specified settings from the primary channel, including frequency, transmitter registration, encryption information and channel name.

That approach is intended to reduce repeated receiver setup where systems use distributed or redundant receiver networks. ProSoundWeb identifies applications including parade routes, stadiums, arenas, convention centers and productions where receiver placement must remain flexible. The report does not establish channel-count limits, mixed-device restrictions or the firmware requirements for the compatible receiver models.

The new Preferred Access Point function applies to ShowLink systems with multiple AD610 access points. According to ProSoundWeb, users can assign supported transmitters to a selected AD610, giving operators more deliberate control of transmitter-to-access-point association. Shure says the feature is intended to provide more predictable ShowLink connections in large venues, distributed antenna systems and other complex wireless configurations.

ProSoundWeb does not identify the transmitter models covered by Preferred Access Point, nor does it specify AD610 firmware requirements, topology limits or whether companion updates are needed for Wireless Workbench, transmitters or other system components.

Shure describes Shure Update Utility as a standalone application for downloading updates and configuring compatible hardware, with device firmware installation available over Ethernet or USB. The supplied Shure documentation does not include Axient Digital 1.6-specific release notes, fixes or known issues.
