The macOS and Windows instrument is scheduled for general release October 24, with reported A6 patch import/export and two-way hardware parameter communication.

Isla Electronics has announced ASYX, a software synthesizer designed as a recreation of the Alesis Andromeda A6. ProSoundWeb reports that the instrument will enter general release on October 24, 2026.

The more consequential part of the announcement for existing Andromeda users is patch and hardware interoperability. According to ProSoundWeb, ASYX can import and export original A6 SysEx patches and provides two-way communication with an Andromeda A6 for supported parameter edits. That could let owners move established sound libraries into a software workflow without manually rebuilding patches, although the report does not establish the full scope of SysEx translation or supported hardware controls.

Isla describes ASYX as reproducing the A6’s sound, modulation behavior and voice characteristics; that claim has not been independently tested in the supplied reporting. The synth’s reported architecture includes two oscillators per voice, sub-oscillators, sync, FM and ring modulation, alongside 12 dB multimode and 24 dB low-pass filters. Three multistage envelopes, three LFOs, modulation routing and an Analogue control for voice variation and drift are also listed.

ASYX runs standalone on macOS and Windows and is available as a VST3 plug-in on both platforms, with Audio Unit support on Mac, ProSoundWeb reports. Additional reported features include an arpeggiator, 16-step sequencer, drive, 29 DSP effects and a 16-part Mix mode for layers, splits and multitimbral configurations.
